Hey guys! Sorry I haven’t been posting as much recently. I’ve been extremely busy with photo projects for my classes and preparing for next week’s classes. Ah, schoolwork and preparation. Doesn’t that just sound like wonderful to do? *sarcasm*
Anyway, I have another product review for you! As always, it is for one of the products from the Shea Moisture line! This here is the Coconut & Hibiscus Body Lotion! It’s about $8.99, but less if you get it on sale.
I picked this up after scanning the shelves for my favorite lotion. . .and discovering that my store STILL hasn’t restocked on it. *cue angry growl and clenching of fists*
So I grabbed this since I was in need of lotion anyway. I used it a few times, usually after I shower, and it has been enough to make this review.
For starters, this lotion smells like PARADISE! It has a wonderful fruity smell that also has a hint of tropics whipped in. Maybe it’s the combination of coconut oil and papaya extract in this that creates the smell, but the fragrance is amazing.
As for the lotion itself, it’s pretty good. It takes a while to sink in, but it can be best applied directly after you leave the bath or shower when your skin is damp. I forgot to mention: the lotion itself is really thick in terms of consistency.
But that is where my problem lies folks.
I experienced the same issue I had with the Baby lotion. This stuff was SO THICK that you would need strong hands to squeeze that bottle to get some product out.
As always, this made me a very angry person. Like seriously, what was up with knowing that the final product will be super thick and yet STILL choosing to put it into a squeeze bottle?! *screams angrily*
I wasn’t going to surrender to this packaging, so once I encountered this, out came the kitchen knife and I cut that sucker open to get the lotion.
Afterwards, the rest of the product was scooped out and placed into small jars for easy use.
So, is this product good? Yes, in terms of moisture and scent. But if you enjoy straining your hand muscles squeezing a bottle to get a seriously thick lotion out, go ahead and try this out. Otherwise, if you love this, I recommend getting this out of the bottle first before using.
Happy product sampling, folks!
