Review | Josie Maran Argan Tinted Moisturizer

Hello guys! It’s night now and it’s getting colder and colder by the hour. I bundled up after braving the cold and heading to the library to work on two projects for my classes. Sadly, I have to go out again to take photos for one of my projects. *shudders*

Anyway, while I’m nursing that painful idea, I have another review for you. You can breathe; it’s not on a product from Shea Moisture or LUSH (I can hear the sighs of relief. . .).

Rather, it’s a product from a line that I haven’t heard of until now: Josie Maran!

This particular product here is the Josie Maran Argan Tinited Moisturizer! It can be found online or at Sephora for about $38 plus tax (Yes folks. It’s THAT expensive.).

For those who don’t know, I’m not really a fan of makeup. I have been looking into the BB, CC and Tinted Moisturizer game for a while because I’m low maintenance and just want something that will give me a natural look in one step. Add in the fact that my skin can get very oily in the T-Zone area and all over and my search for the perfect tinted moisturizer has been an adventure worthy of being blogged about.

The one I was using before I grabbed this was the Laura Mercier Oil-Free one, but being that it was priced at $44, that seemed unreasonable to me to fork over that much money. I’m not rich, people.

So I grabbed this to see if it worked for my skin. It comes in six shades and I chose the darkest complexion available.

Well, for something priced high, this stuff did the job! When applied, it covers well and gives me a slight dewy, yet even look to my face. Plus, it even has SPF 30 for the sun’s rays, so that was a bonus.

Afterwards, when I’m done and return back for a long nap and relaxation, splashes of warm water combined with a towel easily remove this stuff from my face.

The downside is that since Dark 1 is the darkest one (meaning that it needs to be slightly darker to perfectly match my complexion), it can make me appear slightly ghostlike if I overapply it to my face. Due to this, I only apply a thin layer to cover the acne/blemish scars on my face.

It’s also pretty thick and the consistency feels a lot like you’re putting a foundation on your face instead. I didn’t enjoy that, but I stuck it out and used this for a while.

If you’re into tinted moisturizers, I recommend giving this one a try. I’m not sure I might purchase this one again; it’s not a terrible product, but I’m still hunting for the best one for my face. It might be the best one for you though!

Until next time!
