Hello everyone! Right now, it’s Wash Day and I’m currently allowing my hair to marinate in a deep conditioning pack I purchased a long time ago. Yes, my wash days can be a very laborous task, but after it’s done, my hair will be left ready for the following week!
On the issue of my hair care regimen, I do have a product review for you! It’s not going to be on a hair product (though, it’s tempting). Rather, it’s going to be on another Shea Moisture product for the body!
This here is the Raw Shea Butter Body Lotion and it can be found at the following places: Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens, Ulta Beauty and Sally’s Beauty Supply! The price is around $5.99 – $9.99.
The story behind me purchasing this lotion isn’t that special: I simply ran out of another lotion I had tried and I wanted to restock on lotion for the winter season. That is all.
After a couple of uses, this lotion works very well! For starters, the first ingredient in this lotion is unrefined shea butter. So expect this lotion to be very thick, which is great for extremely dry skin like mine. I recommend applying this lotion right after you pat your skin dry once you step out of the shower. It takes a minute to soak in, but it goes into your skin a lot faster when your skin’s warm from the shower or bath.
But since the lotion is thick, that’s where the problem lies for me. Because the lotion is thick, it can be very difficult to get out of the bottle. I feel like this product doesn’t feel like a lotion; it feels more like a body cream that needs to be repackaged in a jar instead of a squeeze bottle. I’ve stored the bottle upside down and squeezed it as hard as my tiny hands allowed and even then, it was still hard to get out. I wish the people would repackage this stuff in a jar and do this to the rest of their lotions for easy use.
Due to this mishap, I’m not sure if I want to try this lotion again. Right now, I’m using another one of Shea Moisture’s lotions and…well, you’ll just have to wait until my next review! But until then, I’ll finish up what’s left of this lotion.
Until next time, everyone! Now excuse me as I go rinse my hair…
