Review | Shea Moisture African Black Soap Balancing Conditioner

Hello and Happy New Year! It’s 2016 and it’s time to kickstart the new year with better plans and a more positive outlook. What better way to start the new year than with a review on another product from my favorite brand?

This is the African Black Soap Balancing Conditioner from Shea Moisture and it can be found in Sally’s Beauty Supply for around $9.99 – $10.99. It can also be ordered online from many websites that still have it in stock.

This product caught my attention because I’ve never used it before. Plus, it’s getting harder to find since the Dandruff Control line got released a long time ago. I was lucky enough to see it in a nearby Sally’s Beauty Supply stores behind the other bottles.

I used this as a leave-in and as a rinse out conditioner, so I’ll give my review on how this product does for both uses.

As a leave-in conditioner, it does a pretty good job! The consistency was very creamy and it sank in after a minute of massaging it through my hair. No residue was left behind and I was left with moisturized, healthy hair!

But this product really shines as a rinse out conditioner! Not only did it spread easily over my hair, detangling with this stuff is a breeze! I could easily get the knots and matting out without much effort and that was a plus for me considering how matted my hair gets when dry.

It also mentions that it can relieve itching, dandruff, eczema, psoriasis and flaky scalps. I’ve applied this to my scalp and it really does live up to its claims! After leaving it on my scalp for a couple of minutes, the itchiness is gone and my scalp feels healthy again.

All in all, it’s a great conditioner and I can see myself using this again and again. But like I said earlier, since the Dandruff Control line came out, this particular conditioner is hard to find and the product junkie in me is telling me to stock up on this conditioner. I might actually listen to that little voice…

Until next time, readers! Enjoy the new year!
