Making Changes: Giving Your Skin a Simple Diet

Hello and Happy New Year to all of my followers! It’s 2017 and it’s time to make some significant changes to your lives and everyone else’s! I’ve already made my list of resolutions, so I have a great idea of how this year is going to be different from last year.

One of the resolutions called for a change in how I treat my skin. For those who haven’t heard already, your skin is the largest organ on your body and it acs like a sponge, absorbing anything that you put on it.

Considering the amount of harmful chemicals in the many drugstore products at your favorite stores, I wanted something better for my skin. More importantly, a very simple routine to make my skin look its best.

This is what lead me to simplify my skin regimen! I no longer carry several products to the shower with me. Less is more and I find that two or three products with multiple uses get whatever I want to get done while showering.

Yep, what you see in this photo is no lie! All I bring to the shower is a soap that does the job of four products and a scrub that can be used for my face and body! Yes, both products are vegan, but remember what I said in another post about putting your hair on a vegan diet? Think of this as me doing the same for my skin!

I’ve also made my shaving routine very simple! For me, I didn’t really need a can of shaving cream to shave certain areas of my body; I just needed a high-quality razor, an organic soap bar and my DIY luxurious oil.

Those are just two of the ways that my beauty routine is becoming more simple day by day. By removing unnecessary products, I’m reducing waste and not putting my skin under stress. I’m also dabbing into making my own products that can do more than one function.

So far, my skin has never looked better and I’m loving how healthy I feel. Of course you must nourish your body from the inside out as well, but that’s for a different post.

How about you? Are you going to make any significant changes to your beauty routine? Tell me your plans below!
