A big hello to all of you! So, to start off, do you remember when I said something about “wanting to expand my horizons” when it came to trying out new products?
Well, I figured that it was time to work on trying out new face/body scrubs for my skin! I found a few small businesses and companies thanks to Instagram and I have another scrub to share with my beloved fans and followers!
This is the Shimmer Scrub from Frank Body and unfortunately, it’s a Limited Edition product, so I don’t know when it will be available again. There is a petition of sorts to bring it back though. You just need to head to the website to sign it if you’re interested!
First, a little background into the company. Frank Body was launched in 2013 within the confines of Australia. It started with only one coffee scrub being sold online, but it quickly grew in popularity. Since then, the business has not only expanded its one scrub into a line of scrubs to choose from, but it also includes a body and face care line to pair with the scrubs.
Plus, all of the products are vegan or vegetarian and cruelty-free! How awesome is that?
Getting back to me, I purchased this scrub because of two reasons. One, I’ve never used a coffee scrub before, particularly one that claims to make you “shimmer.” Two, Frank Body offered (and still offers) free shipping ALL throughout the United States! I was sold!
I’ve used this on my face and body for a while and I think it’s a very good scrub! It contains mica, an ingredient that looks like glitter against your skin. It’s also nut-free, so if you’re allergic to nuts of any sort, you won’t have to worry about using this on your skin.
It does a good job exfoliating my body, especially my legs, underarms, bikini area and face! The shimmer effect was unnoticeable, but you would have to look very close to see it. Plus, it smells slightly of coffee and another fragrance I can’t really put a finger on.
Now for the cons. At around $20.00, this is a bit expensive and I can’t always fork over that much. There’s also not a lot in the bag even though it’s advertised at 7.05 oz.
Also, I recommend that you use this when the weather is warm. When it’s cold, the scrub will harden into these hard, small rocks of scrub that are abrasive and hard to dissolve. Maybe it’s because of the sugar and salt mixed in with the ground coffee? I’m not sure.
All in all, it’s a good scrub and I might try the Coconut Scrub that Frank Body offers in the future. Try out this company for yourself; you might like the products!
