Review | Shea Moisture 10 in 1 Renewal System Hair Masque

It’s the start of my online class and the day of the Solar Eclipse! I’ve never seen one and this will be the first time that I do! But before I prepare for when it’s supposed to appear and sign into my online class, I want to get back to the topic of Beauty for a moment.

I have been still trying out new products, including a few I’ve passed over in Shea Moisture! Yes, I know about the controversy surrounding the company, but there were some products that I haven’t tried yet and this happened to be a brand that had a few untouched products.

This product I’ll talk about now was one of them! It’s the Superfruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal System Hair Masque and it can be found at Ulta Beauty, Sally Beauty, Target and possibly Walmart for various prices between $10.99 – $12.99.

Shea Moisture 10 in 1 Renewal System Masque

I got this masque a long time ago from Sally Beauty and I just got around to using it after I cleared out my drawers of excess beauty products.

Hey, I just wanted some space. Besides, less is more for your hair, right?

After a couple of uses, I think this masque is okay. Nothing too special about it for me. The fragrance is a sweet, slightly fruity one with a hint of floral mixed in. It a really decent smell, but it’s the signature fragrance for the entire Superfruit Complex line.

The consistency is very thick and creamy. At least the mask I chose had this consistency. It varies, so don’t be surprised if the one you pick up has a more runny consistency. It’s all in the ingredients!

As for it working its magic on my hair, I didn’t notice much of a difference when I rinsed it out after deep conditioning for 35 – 40 minutes. Maybe it’s because my hair is already in good shape and there’s hardly any visible damage. My hair wasn’t super soft (as other reviewers have claimed), but it did feel slightly thicker because of the biotin in this masque.

On the flip side, this masque didn’t go on smoothly as I had hoped. It’s a little lumpy and it didn’t give me any detangling properties whatsoever. Plus, it seem to make my hair clump together as if my hair was free-forming into locs. I did not enjoy having that happen to my hair.

Overall, I’ll use up the rest of it, but I won’t repurchase it. My hair just didn’t need this masque since it’s already in good shape. But it might be great if your hair is damaged or it’s starting to turn gray and thin out!

Have you tried it? What are your thoughts?

    1. Exactly! It’s why I have less products for my hair and skin now. It’s just much easier to use ingredients that I already have to make recipes that are customized for my needs.
